The distillery in Fettercairn typically supplies whisky for blends, like that of Whyte & Mackay’s flagship brand. This makes the 12-Year-Old expression part of a rarer family of bottles distributed by the distillery. Matured in American oak ex-bourbon casks, the 12-Year-Old is filled with floral notes of fruit, roasted coffee flavours and a hint of ginger spiciness. This is a light and well-balanced bottle from a distillery with a lot of history which is sure to creep into the spotlight.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Refreshing nectarine, white flowers and milk chocolate emerge initially. Black toffee and subtle roasted coffee provide darker notes underneath,

Palate: Tropical fruit and sticky Jamaican ginger cake add a sweet and spicy depth which a flicker of bitter herbs and vanilla complement.

Finish: Orchard fruits and soft spices linger.
