Description

Tomatin is exploring the world of French treats with its French Collection, by finishing its whisky in casks that have previously held French wines and spirits. This particular expression is a 12 year old single malt, which has enjoyed a finishing period in casks that were home to some Sauternes wine. One of the most famous style of sweet wine out there, Sauternes is well-known for its bright, juicy, and generally yummy flavour profile, which makes it excellent for whisky cask finishes.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Peaches and cream, caramel, a hint of malt loaf.

Palate: Richly honeyed, with juicy pear and quince. A hint of coconut ice develops along the way.

Finish: Candied ginger, clementine, and a smidge of cinnamon.
